Yesil Deniz Bay

Yeşil Deniz Bay, whose Turkish name simply means "Green Sea," is a small cove on the coastline of Marmaris, in Muğla province on Turkey's southwestern Aegean coast. It sits within the stretch of shore between Marmaris and the resort village of Turunç, an area known for a string of quiet coves rather than for any single landmark, and Yeşil Deniz is one of the smaller stops that local boat trips add to a day out on the water.

The bay takes its name from the colour of its water, which turns a deep green where the sea meets the pine-covered hillsides rising steeply behind the shore. Since the coastline here has no road access, the cove can only be reached by boat, and many charter guests anchor here for the afternoon, drawn by calm, sheltered water suited to swimming rather than any particular sight on land.

Yeşil Deniz mainly appears on the itineraries of Marmaris day-boat tours, usually paired with stops such as Paradise Island and Kumlubük, rather than in historical or academic sources, so detailed documentation of the bay itself is limited.
