Tuzla Bay

Tuzla Bay lies deep inside the Gulf of Gökova, on Turkey's southwestern Aegean coast, close to the small waterfront settlement of Tuzla and just north of the Seven Islands. Tucked well inside the gulf and shielded by the surrounding hills, the bay is noticeably calmer than the open coast outside, which is why it has long been a classic stop on a Marmaris blue cruise itinerary that continues deeper into the gulf toward Akyaka.

The shoreline carries a scattering of simple fish restaurants that cater to passing yachts, a fixture of daily life on both sides of the gulf, and the clear water here often lets the sandy seabed be seen from the deck long before anyone gets in to swim. The slopes around the bay carry the low scrub vegetation typical of this stretch of Muğla province rather than dense forest, framing the blue water in muted greens and greys.

Because Tuzla sits where the sheltered inner gulf gives way to more open water toward Marmaris, charter itineraries often use it as a calm overnight anchorage before or after livelier stops further along the coast.
