Karacasogut

Karacasöğüt, often simply called Söğüt, is a small bay and hillside village on the Bozburun Peninsula, part of the Marmaris district in Muğla province, Turkey. Set back from the open sea, its waters are unusually calm and sheltered, which has made it a regular stop for yacht cruises heading further south toward the Greek islands of Symi, Tilos and Rhodes.

The shore near Karacasöğüt also holds the remains of Amnistos, an ancient settlement whose surviving city walls and old harbour wall point to a past as a small maritime centre, though little formal excavation has been carried out and much of the site remains undocumented. The surrounding hills, covered in pine and olive groves, and the modest marina below the village give the bay a working, low-key character rather than a touristic one, and the drive from Marmaris along the peninsula's winding coastal road takes roughly forty-five minutes.

For gulets sailing out of Marmaris toward the Bozburun coast, Karacasöğüt is worth a visit if you're chartering a gulet from Marmaris, offering a quiet anchorage and a genuine village atmosphere rather than a crowded resort stop.
