Tekirova

Tekirova is a small coastal neighbourhood in the Kemer district of Antalya Province, on Turkey's Mediterranean coast. Until a 2013 administrative reorganisation folded it into greater Kemer, it was an independent town (belde); today it counts just over 3,000 residents according to Turkey's 2022 census, making it one of the quieter corners of this stretch of coastline despite its large resort hotels and the steady boat traffic passing along this part of the Lycian coast.

The setting is what draws most visitors. Tekirova sits beneath Tahtalı Dağı, the 2,365-metre peak known in antiquity as Mount Olympos, whose base station for the Olympos Aerial Tram lies just outside the settlement and carries visitors to the summit in around ten minutes. To the north, the pine forest gives way to the ruins of ancient Phaselis, whose three harbours are within easy walking distance of Tekirova's beach.

Because it sits so close to Phaselis and the wider Kemer coastline, many gulet cruises in Turkey call in here, anchoring off Tekirova's bay for a swim or a look at the ancient harbours before continuing along the coast toward Antalya or Kemer.
