Salyangoz Bay

Salyangoz Bay is one of the smaller, quieter anchorages tucked into the Kekova coastline, its Turkish name simply meaning "snail" — a nod, most likely, to the shape of the cove or the shells commonly found along its shore rather than to any grander history. It doesn't carry the archaeological weight of Kekova's sunken ruins or the ancient sites nearby; its appeal is almost entirely about the setting.

The water here is notably clear, and the surrounding hillside keeps the bay sheltered from wind and swell, which makes it a comfortable spot for swimming and simply sitting at anchor for a few hours. Fish are easy to spot along the rocky margins, and the bay sees a fraction of the traffic that passes through Üçağız or the main Kekova channel, so it tends to stay calm even during the busier summer months.

That combination of shelter and quiet is exactly why many charter guests anchor here for the afternoon, using it as a restful break between the more historic stops further along the Kekova itinerary before moving on to the next anchorage before evening.
