Gocek Island

Gocek Island is an uninhabited island in the bay off the town of Gocek, on Turkey's southwest coast, and acts as a natural breakwater that shelters the approaches to Gocek's marinas from the prevailing winds. The island stretches for roughly 2 kilometres and is covered in pine and olive scrub behind a pebble beach, with the surrounding water staying calm and clear for most of the year.

Depths around the island run to 20-25 metres, too deep for casual anchoring, so mooring buoys and a small pier are used instead to hold visiting boats in place. Smaller coves on either side of the island offer additional space for yachts to tie up, and the island's proximity to Gocek's marinas means it can be reached from port in a matter of minutes.

In recent years part of the island's shoreline, in Incirli Bay, has been developed into the Fimi Island beach club, adding a restaurant, bar and organised beach service to what was previously an undeveloped anchorage. The rest of the island remains untouched, and many charter guests anchor here for the afternoon to swim before moving on to the next bay.
