Turunc Pinari Bay

Tucked into the eastern shore of the Fethiye Gulf, southeast of Şahin Burnu, Turunç Pınarı Bay is a pine-cloaked cove roughly six nautical miles from the town centre on Turkey's southwestern coast. There is no road down to the water, and no path connects it to the nearest village; the only way in is by sea, which keeps the anchorage quiet even in high season.

The bay takes its Turkish name from the bitter orange (turunç) trees scattered along its slopes and from the freshwater springs that trickle down the rocks and cool the sea near the shoreline. Dense pine forest wraps around the cove, and the mix of spring water and clear, sheltered sea has made it a long-standing stop for boats exploring this part of the gulf. Visitors often describe the water near the springs as noticeably cooler than the rest of the bay.

Because it can only be reached by boat, the bay is best reached during a Fethiye gulet cruise, with day tours from Fethiye and Ölüdeniz also stopping here so guests can swim in clear water before the boat continues along the coast toward the next anchorage.
