Gobun Bay

Also known as Kapı Creek, Gobun Bay is a narrow, well-sheltered cove within the Skopea Limanı cruising grounds that stretch between Göcek and Fethiye, close to Domuz Island on Turkey's southwestern coast. Its entrance is tight enough to keep the water almost always flat, which is why the bay stays busy with anchored boats even outside the main summer season. Inside, olive groves and pine-covered slopes surround a small dock, and a path leads up the hillside to a viewpoint over the bay — a walk of roughly an hour there and back.

The bay's single restaurant, reachable only by boat and known locally as a bakery as well, is the main shore facility, with tables set for sunset views over the water. Underwater, the area has yielded rock-cut tombs and other traces of earlier settlement, adding a layer of history to what is otherwise a swimming and snorkelling stop. Roughly seven nautical miles from Göcek and sheltered in almost any wind direction, Gobun Bay has long been a classic stop on a Fethiye blue cruise itinerary, particularly for boats looking for calm water for an overnight anchorage.
