Ada Bogazi

Ada Boğazı, better known to visitors as Aquarium Bay, lies on a short stretch of coast between Bitez and Gümbet on the Bodrum Peninsula. The bay takes its popular name from the exceptional clarity of its water: a narrow strait between the mainland and the small Görecek Island keeps the current moving through the cove, and on a calm day the white sand and rock on the seabed are visible from the surface even at depths of 20 to 30 metres.

There is no road down to the bay — it can only be reached by boat, or on foot along a rough coastal path from Bitez that takes around 35 to 45 minutes. That isolation has kept the shoreline undeveloped: there are no restaurants, sunbeds or facilities of any kind, just rock, a little sand, and the water itself.

For boats already working the stretch between Bitez and Gümbet, the bay is an easy stop for swimming and snorkelling rather than a destination requiring a special detour, and it's worth a visit if you're chartering a gulet from Bodrum along this part of the peninsula.
