Voutoumi Beach

Voutoumi is a pebble beach on the eastern side of Antipaxos, the smallest of the Ionian Islands, lying about 3 kilometres south of Paxos. Antipaxos covers just 5 square kilometres and, as of the 2021 census, had a permanent population of only 21 people — most of the island is given over to vineyards, with a single small harbour, Agrapidia, on its coast.

There is no ferry service to Antipaxos; visitors reach it by a short sea-taxi crossing of around 15 minutes from Gaios, the main port of Paxos. The island has three beaches — Vrika, Voutoumi and Mesovrika — of which Voutoumi is the best known, prized for its bright white pebbles and layered turquoise-to-deep-blue water beneath steep limestone cliffs. Two tavernas serve the beach: one directly on the sand, and Bella Vista, reached by a steep climb of roughly 200 steps up the hillside, with views back over the bay.

For boats, the bay in front of Voutoumi offers a partially protected anchorage that is particularly sheltered from westerly winds, though it can run shallow in places. The clear, calm water and the shelter of the cliffs make it a natural stop on a cruise through the Ionian, and many charter guests exploring Greece anchor here for the afternoon to swim before continuing on toward Paxos or Corfu.
