Pedi Bay

Pedi is a small bay and village on the east coast of Symi, a short walk of about fifteen to twenty minutes from the harbour of Gialos (Symi Town), and also reachable on foot from the hillside settlement of Chorio above it. Where Gialos is built up and busy with day-trip boats from Rhodes, Pedi keeps a slower pace: a scattering of tavernas, a few shops, and a sandy beach set among green hillsides, split into several smaller stretches around the bay.

The beach is organised with sunbeds and umbrellas, showers, changing rooms and toilets, and Pedi also has its own marina, able to take visiting yachts alongside the local fishing boats that still work out of the bay. Remains of early Christian churches survive nearby, and the small Church of St George sits above the water.

Pedi's sheltered position and easy walk into Symi Town make it best reached during a gulet cruise along the Greece coast, with the option to anchor in the bay itself or tie up in the marina and walk over to Gialos for the evening.
