Simuni

Šimuni is a small fishing village on the southwestern coast of the island of Pag, roughly halfway between Novalja (about 11 kilometres to the north) and the town of Pag (about 12 kilometres to the south), at the foot of the island's highest peak, St Vitus, which rises to 348 metres.

The village sits on three natural bays. The northern bay holds the ACI Marina Šimuni, with 191 wet berths and 55 dry berths, all supplied with water and electricity; it is often described as one of the most sheltered harbours on this stretch of the Adriatic. The central bay is used by local fishing boats and doubles as a small fish market, while the southern bay has a pebble beach. A green lighthouse marks the southern tip of the marina entrance for boats arriving after dark, and a chapel above the village serves as a daytime landmark.

Unlike much of the otherwise barren, rocky island of Pag, Šimuni is unusually green: a pine forest surrounds the long beach and campsite next to the village, giving it the feel of an oasis. The combination of a protected marina, a fish market, and a family-friendly beach has made Šimuni a popular stop for gulet charter guests exploring Croatia, particularly for itineraries that link the Kvarner islands in the north with the Kornati and Šibenik area to the south.
