Korcula Town Museum

Korcula Town Museum sits on St Mark's Square in the old town, facing the Cathedral of St. Mark, inside the 15th–16th century Gabrielis Palace. It opened in 1957 and now holds 24 separate collections — everything from archaeology and ethnography to stonemasonry and music.

The standout is the traditional shipbuilding collection: 573 items, including ship models, tools, documents, old photographs, nautical charts and navigation instruments, tracing the island's shipyards from the 18th to the 20th century. Downstairs, the archaeological and natural history collection is laid out like a seabed, displaying underwater finds. Upstairs, a large hall covers Korčula's cultural and artistic history from the 17th to the 19th century.

The museum makes for an easy addition to a day ashore for those chartering a gulet in Croatia.
