Upper Corner Tower Foundry Museum

Tucked beneath Minčeta Tower along Dubrovnik's city walls, the Upper Corner Tower Foundry Museum is a small, easy-to-miss stop most people walk straight past on their way around the walls. It occupies the remains of a 15th-century foundry that cast cannons and other weapons for the Republic of Ragusa's defence, and that stayed in use until the 1667 earthquake put an end to it.

What is left inside are the foundry's old casting areas and a small display of tools and equipment connected to the site, giving a sense of the industrial work that went on inside the walls alongside the more familiar story of merchants and diplomats. Entry is included with the general Dubrovnik City Walls ticket, and the tower itself adds one more decent vantage point over the harbour and the rooftops of the Old Town.

It will not take more than a few minutes, but it is a nice detour on the walls before heading down toward the water for a Dubrovnik gulet cruise.
