Skrivena Luka

Skrivena Luka — literally “hidden harbour” — sits on the southern coast of Lastovo, and the name fits: you genuinely can’t see the bay from the open sea until you’re right at the entrance. Locals also call it Portorus, and it’s one of the larger, more sheltered bays on the island.

At the mouth of the bay stands the Cape Struga lighthouse, built in 1839 on a cliff about 70 metres above the water — one of the older lighthouses on the Adriatic, and still a working landmark for boats coming in from the south.

On the western side of the bay, Porto Rosso is a small tavern with its own pontoon, offering water and electricity and room for up to around 30 yachts. Mooring is charged separately from the restaurant bill, and it’s worth booking ahead in July and August since the bay fills up fast. In summer, a bus runs from behind Porto Rosso to Lastovo village and Ubli for anyone who needs supplies — Skrivena Luka itself has no shops.

The bay sits inside the Lastovo Archipelago Nature Park, so there’s a park entry ticket to pay on arrival, but that’s a small price for a spot this sheltered. It’s no surprise that many charter guests anchor here for the afternoon on their way through the archipelago.
